INDEPENDENT FILM PRODUCTION

Writer/Director/Producer (7-2000 – present)

  • The Loving Story – Consulting producer for feature length documentary on landmark civil rights case.  Airs in February 2012 on HBO.
  • From The Rough – wrote and researched the first draft of the screenplay for a true story about a black woman who coaches an all white golf team.  Cast features Taraji Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Tom Felton (Harry Potter series) and Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile).  It will be released in theatres in February 2012.
  • Fog Warning wrote, directed and co-produced my second feature length narrative film, which was released in HD with 5.1 audio on iTunes and Amazon VOD in October 2011.  Secured funding from individual investors and self distributed.
  • Person of Interestwrote, directed and co-produced my first independent feature length narrative film that was released by Ariztical Entertainment in March 2010 on DVD and digital downloads.  This mystery thriller is based in part on my experiences as a documentary filmmaker.
  • I’ll Sleep When I Die – wrote and directed a short film for Panasonic Video & Apple Computer.  Shot in HD with Panasonic’s Varicam, it was the first HD project edited with Final Cut Pro.  Shown by both Apple and Panasonic during the 2004 NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention.
  • Outwitting Hitler - wrote, directed and co-produced a critically acclaimed one-hour documentary, which was sold to Showtime Networks (U.S.A.), aired April 2001, and then to Eagle Rock (U.K.) for international distribution.  I acquired the story rights, secured the film rights and negotiated the distribution deals.  This documentary, which is about a Jewish art student who used his skill as an artist to forge Nazi documents, was honored by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC and at the Australian Film Festival AUSFEST.

Showtime Networks
Senior Writer/Producer/Director (1990-2000)

  • Senior staff producer of documentaries to support Showtime original programming.  Subjects included Olympic athlete Gale Devers, Hiroshima 50th anniversary, CIA traitor Aldrich Ames, serial killer Keith Jesperson and the first Gulf War.  Shot on location all over the world, including England, Greece, Israel, Australia, Japan, Mexico and Canada.  Garnered many major industry honors, including three New York Film Festival Awards & five Cable Ace nominations.

New Line Cinema

  • Produced and wrote electronic press materials, including interviews and behind the scenes footage for major theatrical releases, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Robert Altman’s The Player.

CNBC

  • Producer/director/writer for half hour biography program about a Wall Street icon.

MTV/VH-1

  • Freelance Producer for celebrity interviews.

The Movie Channel

Staff Writer/Producer (1984-1990)

  • Produced & directed The Osborne column with Hollywood Reporter columnist Robert Osborne, current on-air host for TURNER CLASSIC MOVIESNominated for two Cable Ace awards.
